7th YEGN Workshop 2025 in Greifswald

August 25-28, 2025

Greifswald, Germany

From August 25–28, 2025, Charlotte Lobensteiner and Lennart Fischer participated in the 7th workshop of the Young Economic Geographers Network (YEGN) at the University of Greifswald. The workshop focused particularly on regional transformation processes and agency and offered young economic geographers a platform for exchanging insights and networking.

This year’s presentations addressed topics such as green and just transitions, social innovations, and policy and legitimation processes. The program was complemented by excursions in and around Greifswald.

Charlotte Lobensteiner ("A geographical perspective on power in transition work: insights from the bio-based construction sector in South Westphalia, Germany") and Lennart Fischer („Why transformative knowledge fails to transform: A multi-scalar (de-)legitimation perspective on the construction sector in Chennai, India“) enriched the discussions with their contributions.
