NEST Conference in Delhi, India
March 28-29, 2026
Delhi, India
The 11th Annual NEST Conference took place on 28–29 March 2026 at the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi and was hosted by the School of Public Policy. Under the theme “Interlinked Transitions: From Global Visions to Local Realities,” the conference focused on how sustainability transitions are shaped through the interplay between global frameworks and local contexts. The aim was to foster interdisciplinary exchange on policy approaches, transformation pathways, and practical strategies for a just and sustainable future.
The conference is the flagship annual event of the Network of Early Career Researchers in Sustainability Transitions (NEST) and is hosted each year by different universities around the world. Notably, the 2026 edition marked the first time the conference was held in the Global South, representing an important step toward greater inclusion of diverse regional perspectives. It offered rich insights into debates on knowledge and innovation dynamics between the Global North and Global South, as well as into different approaches to sustainability transitions.
Linda Lütkes attended the conference and presented her research titled “Old Roots, New Routes: A Revaluation Perspective on the Geographies of Innovation.” She also participated in a methods workshop for early-career researchers.
